Alexandre Nefedov was born in the Russia in 1941. He lived most of his life in south part of Russia, with its rich and vibrant colours and magnificent landscapes. He has been fascinated with the beauty of the Nature since his childhood. Through his landscapes the artist expressed his love for the beautiful nature of Kuban which conquered his heart.

His first attempts of drawing in his school textbooks were disapproved by his teachers, but attracted attention of his mother, who enrolled him into the Art School. His talent was nourished there and he continued to learn art techniques under the guidance of experienced professors in the Arts and Graphics department of the Kuban State University.

He exhibited his works at various art galleries and exhibitions and they were highly praised by his peers. Landscape painting is what Alexandre likes the most. Alexandre's artistic explorations formed his style as a classical Russian post-impressionist. He belongs to school of Vrubel, Serov, Kuinji, Korovin and others. The richness of his palette and romantic vision separate him from other contemporary artists.

Alexandre is a versatile artist. He tried various styles and forms of art. Along with his beloved landscapes he proved himself as a talented graphic artist and a portrait painter. He tried his hand at sculpture. He is also a talented copyist. He was a practicum student in the renowned Hermitage in Saint Petersburg and Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow where he studied the styles of the legendary artists by copying masterpieces.

The important part of Alexandre's development as an artist was his work as a restorer. He restored Russian Orthodox icons using the methods developed by the experts in the Hermitage who have preserved the finest and the most conservative way to clean and restore old masterpieces. He participated in the restoration of several Russian Orthodox Churches and the Cathedral in Krasnodar.

When moved to Canada in 2000, Alexander was enchanted by the beautiful scenery of Vancouver and couldn't but start painting landscapes. Currently he is working on a grand project named "My Vancouver". His works combine familiarly of Vancouver with the emotions expressed through light and colour. Each work evokes different perception and emotion and depicts the state of Nature in a particular place at a certain time of the year and a day. His soul is clearly seen in every picture.
